Governor Tim Walz released his budget recommendations, which include a major increase in on-going, dedicated funding for roads, bridges and transit. Following through on his promise during the campaign to raise the state gas tax and invest additional funds to repair transportation infrastructure, the Governor’s budget makes transportation a top priority. In addition to his recommendations for the two-year state operating budget, Walz released recommendations for a significant capital bonding bill ($1.3 billion) which includes $345 million in bond funds for transportation projects.
